I APOLOGIZE NOT

So many times we feel the need to justify /explain ourselves in situations to be acceptable or conform to societal norms. Every one has a basic need to belong and yours truly is no exception. However one of life’s true pleasures is to be you at all times. We find that the moments when we have truly lived are those moments when we done things in the spirit of love and at free will. Each day is a special gift from God and as is chalk and cheese, so we are as a people so different. Fearfully, uniquely and wonderfully made…

We need to accept each others differences, if we were all the same life would be too dull.

I came across a few of these in one of those chain letter emails that lists certain things that a woman should never apologize for and I have always been a strong headed woman all my life even in my girly days , so here is me. Forget it if you can think I can apologize for the following in random order.

•  Over indulgence and impulse buying.

When im feeling low “I will have my cake and eat it”. I crave for anything sugary and will happily have lots of chocolate without a single care that I will have a break out thereafter. Forget diabetes, cellulite and all that. Don’t judge, a girl needs regular sugar and retail therapy.  What happens after is irrelevant. If it imposes no life threatening result I will do it at my own peril.

·  Im no superwoman

Yes we have been raised to perfect the art of multi-tasking. Be a mother, sister, wife, aunt, lover, friend, career-woman and still be me.  In the ideal world im all that but accept that im not perfect, im only human. I may not cook like Jamie Oliver but at least appreciate that you will never go to bed on an empty stomach.

• My taste in clothes, food or anything for that matter

I get annoyed at this growing trend of fashion police, haters etc.  What I choose to wear, eat or whatever is a personal decision. JBS and deal with it. I will repeat this again. Let it sink.  I am fearfully, uniquely and wonderfully made. if you have a problem with my preferences , don’t make it my problem. That also includes taking risks and following my heart. Be still though, your opinion is greatly valued. Take note its only your opinion. Terms and conditions apply and the final decision rests upon ….    ME.

• Being honest

On the same note, allow me to say if you ask for my opinion in anything, be prepared. Don’t go hating on me for being brutally honest and speaking my mind.  Truth hurts sometimes but I will not live in guilt for telling it the way I see it.

• Time spent bonding

“People come into our lives for different purposes, you blessed if you can realize that any given time, they have served their purpose and you need to let them go”.  I will not apologize for having lots of friends - old and new, spending time with them, and time spent with myself

• Change

Change is inevitable. I will not apologize for the things I can’t change. While the past is a good place to visit, I will not apologize for my upbringing, failed past relationships and the like . All these are firmly rooted in my past, I can only learn from them.

• My brand

What makes me me is my value system, my principles, my dreams, my passions and all. These have moulded me into the person I am. And because we are different as people these will vary, the sooner we all accept that our values, principles are all different , the more at peace we could be with each other. Acknowledge that my priorities could be mere options in your life.

• my blessings

Lastly I will not apologize for the blessings in my life. I will not apologize for the blessing my family is to me, my life, my obsessions, my relationships, my associates and my dreams. Im a believer in all things that do with love and God is love. A person should never apologize for what they have. You can question only my Maker for He is the source of everything, my livelihood.

TONIGHT'S ITS GONNA BE A GOOD NIGHT

MANCHESTER UNITED takes on Chelsea  tonight at Old Trafford - THE THEATRE OF DREAMS
 and are my personal favourites to strut through to the semis of the Champions league. With a crucial away goal from the first leg from Wayne Rooney  and a loyal support base I expect no less than a UNITED result. Its time to put the blues in their place.

Its gonna be a good night!!

BABY SANTA BECKHAM??

She says there is a certain ring to it. I think not.  Victoria  Beckham apparently wants to name her unborn baby girl ‘Santa’ after an Los Angeles  suburb ‘Santa Monica’, all in an effort to have a unique baby name.  One of their boys is named after a city ‘Brooklyn’ and while we all agree that baby becks will not be ordinary baby, ‘Santa’ is a tad dumb cause it reminds us of Xmas all year round. In an interview David revealed that their older son wanted the baby to be named after Justine Bieber, while he on the other hand would rather have a traditional name. A rep of the Beckhams has however dismissed these rumours as simply tabloid nonsense.

FASHION AGAINST AIDS

Global fashion retailer H&M has launched their annual Fashion against Aids campaign in order to raise funds and awareness of the disease. The 2011 collection is sporty and unisex and it comes at a time where women are working that boyfriend look and men more conscious of styling than ever before.

The drive which combines fashion with the message of safe sex has been successful in the past and we hope this year’s will be bigger and better.  Featured in the campaign are 2 of my favourite artists, Miss Kerry Baby and Akon.

The pretty girl rocks a slogan jumpsuit while Haikona looks cute in a vest, gray hoodie and jeans. Other featured notables are Selma Blair, Penn Badgley, Sky Ferreira, Nikki Reed, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scissor Sisters, Shiloh Fernandez and The Misshapes who are all role models in their own way.

A WINTER SURVIVAL GUIDE

When the bold branches bid farewell to rainbow leaves -Welcome WINTER.  Here is a few pointers to prepare yourself.

• Water and liquids

Stay hydrated with plenty of liquids. it washes away most flu symptoms, unblogs your nose and refreshes your skin inside out.

• Flu shot and a Multi-vitamin supplement

Vaccination are the best defense against colds and flu. Get your flu shot today and you will do just fine. add supplements with any of  these at least vit c, folic acid and garlic and you will do great.

• Wet Wipes and a rich skin feed.

as germs are easily transmittable wipes will come in handy not just to keep your hands clean but also for those accidents from the weak bladder .. and nothing is as embarassing as dry skin, moreso in winter so get a really good skin feed. Any tissue oil should do just fine. I highly recommend Justine tissue oil, Bio_oil, palmers formula(all_tried and tested)

• Fruits and vegetables , add lots of comfort food like thick rich broth, pies, stews , cookies
• A handy gadget (water bottle, electric blanket, facial steamer)
• Reliable heating source (oil heater, fan heater, gas heater, under floor heating)
• If you want to go all out -Bath salts, foam bath, scented colourful candles and fluffy towels

• Beautiful bedding ((throws, flannel sheets, lots of pillows)

• Lots of curdles in the form of flannel pyjamas, fleece clothing, thick socks, gloves, scarves)
• Covered floors (get colorful rugs)

The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination.
