Mattel - the makers of Barbie doll have decided to give Nicki Minaj her moment for her life with a once off edition of the famous doll. Minaj Barbie will be auctioned off  on Wednesday the 7th of  December and all proceeds will go to a charity -Project Angel which benefits men , women and children affected by HIV/AIDS and Cancer with food. Starting off at $1000, I expect nothing less of the craziness Nickie is.

I love me, my family,  my friends, music, i love blogging, i love life :-)

Im hungry for new beginnings , some thing new in my life – a hobby. I feel I need to check into a dance or aerobics class sooner than yesterday. Ballet dancing would be most preferable  but don know if it can be done for old bones like mine

I need the courage to cut my hair into a short style and try out deep red lipstick for darkies like me. More like a deep plum. With the right shade, absolutely striking and sexy. To new beginnings...

I cant get enough of  the avon eye shadow quads. Suits my pocket just fine and they come in fabulous colours. I love the neutrals – nothing as comfortable as make up that screams natural. Different shades for different days.

I come across as a tomboy but im such a girly girl. I love frills, ruffles,  ribbons, lace,  pink, purple, florals and all things feminine.

My favourite colour when I was growing up was blue. Royal blue, sky blue, baby blue.  Thanxs  to my primary school color and our kitchen walls. Yeah I know….. my current obsession is green . All things green. All shades of green.

Im lusting after  a preety lampshade, floral wallpaper, a chandelier. *Singing* this little light of mine, im gonna make it shine. Let it shine, let it shine. Let it shine.     This little light of mine…..I read a lot before bed and hate it when I still have to go and switch of the lights. Seems that short moment takes all my sleep awayL

My pick me up is good music, lots of chocolate.

I will marry the man who sees the inner beauty in me than the outer beauty.

Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

RIHANNA - WE FOUND LOVE

Its Friday – it’s the weekend baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaby . cant say much of any plans

It’s the weekend when supposedly most people are broke and will involuntarily sit in their homes and just chill. I just viewed Rihanna’s new video for the song ‘We found love’ and its clear to me Riri is so not over Chris Brown. Its like everywhere I go , we have to rewind to these two, memories of how they loved and lost and let the world tear them but its not like Breezy is over her either…. . A topic for another day.

I will admit I hate to love this girl because im proudly  a Chris Breezy #1 fan but im a fair lady . I appreciate the good things in life (my famous quote). You have to listen and feel ‘Man down’ to experience what a great artist she is. For a moment I got lost in the Caribbean. Life is too short to be a hater so yeah I give a standing ovation to her. I am slowly being converted.  She grabs the world with lapels and It's only up from here, no downward spiral. You can’t take anything away from a diva.

And in other news Chris Brown is dominating the nominations for the 2011 soul train award nominations. All you haters must \_____ and appreciate him - a legend (in the making).

POWER & BEAUTY: A LOVE STORY OF LIFE ON THE STREETS'.

Earlier this month I wrote about Common's 'One Day It Will Make Sense' and just now another rapper who by now you must know I have a soft spot for, just released his own book entitled ' Power & Beauty: A Love Story of Life on the Streets'. Tip Harris better known as T.I just makes me proud.  its about time the world recognized talent even through the misdemenours he has been through - The title itself is intriguing, my fingers are scratching to get a copy and alas it will be a long waiting period. While the book is no biography of him it has been described as page-turning urban African-American fiction at its very best… Surprise surprise for a supposedly jailbird. The rapper who has dropped so many chart topping hits like my all time favourite from him " "Get back up" " said his motive behind the book is to encourage the generation that he speaks to to do more reading. No matter how busy you may think you are, you must find time for reading, or surrender yourself to self-chosen ignorance.

ONE DAY IT LL MAKE SENSE - COMMON

Gentleness and humility are not words you would normally use to describe a rap artist. But there  are no better words to portray this icon in the true light. And you can’t speak of Lonnie Rashid Lynn, the artist better known as Common without mentioning his hit track ‘The light’. And if you have cared enough to digest the lyrics to the song – you would know what a music genius he is.

He  released his autobiography about a week or so ago that has made its way to the New York Times best selling list.  One Day It’ll All Make Sense is the title of his release and sheds light into his life, through his early life, the music industry, fatherhood, his relationship with Erykah Badu , even his controversial invitation to the White house and of late his acting.

Once it lands on our shores imma get a copy for myself.  I’m no hip-hop\/rap fan but cliché "I appreciate the finer things in life".  He is an understated legend in the game and from the  mental image I have of him - i would like to read this book simply to get something unedited and raw - coming from a black mind and a black man's mouth.

Own and run an empire

This wont be your average girl next door type of thing – first up a decor House. I have always said I  have a taste for all the finer things in life - and so this would be a reflection of all things me, not limited to interior decor but right down to everyday lifestyle . And also on the endless list of passions is to own a woman mag that combines all that that fascinates me.  Decor, good food, books, travel, fashion, travel, sport(man utd), music, motivation, spirituality....the list goes on.   Life is too short for bad days.

Im no master  chef in the kitchen but one day i would like to be the host with the mostess... i love entertaining - so good food has to be part of the package.

Get married and have a bunch of kids

Coming from a small family i have always wished that there were at least many of us to poke each other. Marriage is a beautiful covenant reflecting the agape love of God  and i think in this life , under the right circumstances its still the most beautiful thing EVER.

Travel a lot more for different reasons

A MUST READ

I got this book over the weekend at the 3C wedding conference and i cant put it down. As I type im feeling the impact of less hours  of my beauty sleep, all I know its for a worthy cause.

Most of the past week i have been peeping into my nearest Legit to have a first hand look at this much awaited MINNIE series and well the moment has finally come.....(DRUM ROLL HERE)

 I anticipated lots of color, flowers and all things girly and fairy and truth be told -it nails it. Minenhle Dhlamini is definitely going places with this range. We await to see how it sells but i will speak for myself and say these below are definitely on my list to have.

Normally neh, im a die hard RNB babe and over the years I have said these rap boys just have to pass. Love reigns in me and its no surprise that this Lil Wayne song got me hooked. The heavily tattooed artist actually sings and SURPRISE he actually sounds good, im feeling this tune.

Lil Weezy moves out of his comfort zone and brings us a love ballad with a twist  using the acoustic guitar to melt many die hard rnb loyalists. Change is inevitable and if this song is anything to go by - HIP HOP IS ON TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

ITS THE WEDGE SEASON

I swear when they (those in the know) unleashed this summer trend – I said to myself – let this pass. There is something about them looking chunky that drew me away But after seeing these pairs below I confess my heart skipped a bit or two. Definitely im on my way to owning at least a pair after so many times of denial.

Wedges are the most comfy of heels I say, you don’t worry about a heel breaking and you are guaranteed good balance. Im chuffed that they even come in all sorts. Florals are big this summer, polka dots and stripes , I just don’t have enough reason to let them pass. Yes I got gelled up, my heart just softened.

And whoever said you cant wear them with skirts is so wrong. This is so classic, I love. The best way to rock them though is jeans rolled up, the Capri pants and wide leg pants. So go on ladies. Happy shopping.

This is one concert i would love to attend if only ...it really comes to life.

Michael forever is set for Cardiff in Wales on October 8, 2011 and showcases the biggest names in the business in remembrance of the late king of pop, Michael Jackson.

Picture this: Usher, Chris Brown, Justin Bierber, Jay-z, Kanye West , Craig David, Cee Lo. Several of these artists have already declined invitation from the Jacksons to be part of this tribute concert. We can only wait and see. The expectations are high so we pray it measures up.
