THE 'R' IN RnB MAY GO SILENT

The R in RnB is going to be silent for some time but imagine a world without the crooner. I just cannot deal. Robert Kelly better known as R.Kelly underwent emergency surgery throat surgery and needs some time off to recover. The scary thing is that his publicist suggests that it may be indefinite. The hit maker has to delay his tours across the US but we wish him a speedy recovery all the same. He tweeted on Wednesday – thanking everybody for the love, concern and support and says he will be back.

In the mean while I will admit that his latest offering ‘the Love Letter’ didn’t quite hit it for me at first but as with any other loyal fan- I gave it a second chance and im feeling the R in RnB. Have a listen to this track below. THIS IS PURE LEGENDARY STUFF.

 It seems the former pussycat doll is in denial. And no - she aint singing that killer track with Avant – but Nicole Scherzinger has dismissed reports that her and delicious racing boyfriend , Lewis Hamiltion are getting hitched despite the singer’s dad sharing the good news with a British newspaper. She twitted "Lewis and I woke up this morning and read we were engaged! Sorry to disappoint u all but its (sic) not true”.

Should they decide to do in the near future (if not already) we would be happy for them. I can picture the gorgeous babies from their union.

ACT LIKE A LADY - THINK LIKE A MAN - THE MOVIE

Steve Harvey’s best selling book - Act Like A Lady And Think Like Man is being turned into a movie. And what an impressive cast it has. Chris Brown , Meagan Good, Gabrielle Union, Regina Hall, Terrance J all feature in the film set for release in April 2012 in Obamaland.   To date the book has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and it seems Harvey will be laughing all the way to the bank. I must add to all Breezy haters that this boy is unstoppable – congrats to him for landing a role alongside renowned artists.

Harvey works with the same director who brought us Barbershop ( Tim Story) and judging from the success of the later we are set for good times in “black tv”. The story follows the lives of four men whose women pick up of the book to sort out the mess in their relationships and start heading to the advice it has. Interestingly the men have to normalize the issues using the same book.  Lets wait and see!!!

I got  my copy of True love yesterday and i must say this is their best issue to date in 2011 in respect of content. True love has evolved over the years and though it remains debatable whether its still relevant in find true love, its still is one of my regular monthly buys - Im an avid reader of the mag, more of a loyalist than anything else.

Sonia Sedibe- the lovely generations actress/ businesswoman graces the cover.
I wont get into detail about what she had to say- all i can say is "Some women have it all".

DRESS LIKE KANYE

New York fashion week kicks off today and word is Kanye West may or may not debut a woman’s collection. Or maybe we will have to wait a little longer - september is around the corner. He is said to be linked to 2 big international names in women’s wear, namely  Louise Goldin who specializes in knitwear and Louise Wilson of St Martins MA who has been teaching him a thing or two. We know how Kanye has evolved men’s  fashion over the years and we must say we cant wait to see what’s in store and lets hope it all comes at  friendly price.  If his style and music is anything to go buy- we won’t be disappointed. A source has added that the muso thinks Kate Moss would be the perfect model for his brand.

AN SOS FROM PRISON

Hello out there can you feel him – we can never understand why T.I keeps getting back to prison but I give him the props for remembering his fans while behind bars.  While we anxiously await his album release in September he has taken time to keep in touch through messages on his website.

A message posted yesterday  gives  credit to specific loyalists and reads as below:

 What up world? I appreciate the continued love and support that everyone has been giving me. This chapter in my story will soon be coming to an end and I will be back in the flesh with you sooner than later. In the meantime I want to give a special shout out to a few particular individuals that have been sending me letters, cards, comments, tweets and just overall holding me down. A little loyalty goes a long way with me...I don't do fake shit shawty. So I can't thank y'all enough for keeping it 1 thousand and as soon as I'm able I WILL RETURN THE FAVOR!!! And that's on PHIL!!! I love y'all and I'll see you in September.

INSPIRED _ DJ TIRA

Often more than not that we judge people from what they do - not knowing their story.  I have a mad love for DJ Tira - thats a hustler for life. Last night he was telling HIS story in a local documentary series - and the biggest lesson I have learnt is - Follow your dreams. A 9-5 is not for everyone.
(but its good to have something to back it up)

After graduating with a BSc Social Science degree and attempting to do a post grad - he eventually followed his heart and let music take over his life.  I was so impressed with his journey - organising gigs from his high school days,  printing and distributing flyers to ultimately becoming the MAESTRO he is:  Pity I can not recite it the way it is. One thing i know - my story is about to change...

Today - July the 4^th- is the day set for the new Beckman addition. Mrs. Becks undergoes a
C - section in Los Angeles on the 12^th anniversary of their marriage. Barely a week after launching a new range of ultra feminine dresses inspired by Emily the strange; an unusual teenage cartoon character, Victoria welcomes her baby girl amid the excitement of the boys. Baby daddy and hubby - David wont stop raving about the new arrival – noting that they never had so much pink and lilac in the house and is said to be downloading music for the baby. Victoria on the other hand will be ditching formula milk and breastfeed for the first time. And so as the world anxiously awaits the little missy – I will just dream and drool over this new collection.

Too push or not to push – mina angeke – dear future hubby you might as well start saving!!
