OBAMA'S ARE COMING HOME... COMING HOME

I’m coming home

Tell the World I’m coming home

…..
I’m coming home, I’m coming home
Tell the World that I’m coming

the real power behind the presidency
The U.S first lady or the real president of America lands in South Africa today with beautiful daughters, Malia and Sasha , her mother Marion Robinson and a niece and nephew, Leslie and Avery Robinson.

The trip is intended to improve relations between the U.S. and Africa and a continuation of her work to engage young people across the globe, promoting education, health and wellness and youth leadership.  Mrs O will deliver her speech at the Regina Mundi Hall is Soweto where she is expected to challenge the youth to reach for their highest aspirations. Michelle has become a media darling and stands out as a role model for her involvement in social everyday issues, a fitness regime to die for and most appreciated is her sense of style and parenting skills.

While in Gauteng, Michelle will also meet with Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma, wife to the president Jacob Zuma, (where we hope she will drop a few fashion pointers not that we are complaining but just nje). She is also expected to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Graca Mandela and hopefully Nelson Mandela himself.  On Thursday, the Obamas are expected in Cape town where they will visit Robben Island, particularly the closet-sized cell where Mandela spent much of his 27 years in prison and come Friday they head to Botswana.

And so Africa waits or rather I wait to see the first lady of style

SUMMER LOVING

This post is inspired by the beautiful weather we had in Jozi this week. See Gauteng winters are quite bad for some of us born in the north, a much  warmer climate . So when it gets to anything around 18 - 20 degrees on a winter day, you don’t know how much we appreciate the beams of sunlight.  This temporary pleasure before it gets all grey and dreary again got me sifting through the sale racks for some summer wears.  And I did find a few bargains I cant wait to wear.

Shorts are as staple for summer, im feeling these sailor shorts – take advantage and do your summer shopping now, now.

KURT GEIGER

Dear future husband, take note of that tummy. *drooling*

CONFESSIONS 1A

I have a confession to make. I think I was born into the purple. Not that my family has some royal ancestry or anything but everything around me is purple. Purple is for me a symbol of power, royalty and wealth. In my own little world I stand as queen, her royal majesty. Recently I converted and still in the process of redecorating my room into a little purple heaven. Its crazy to think of it but I wear purple more often than not. Not that I keep record but it features prominently in my wardrobe. I declared at the start of winter 2011 that grey would be my new black , im nowhere near that conversion . I simple love purple. Here’s a few ideas I have in mind.

I must add that a clean lavender smell stems off my room – no coincidence - im a loyal consumer of lavender scented fresheners. There is something about it that I find soothing, calming and making my world normal.

People who love the colour purple are said to be creative, individualistic, original.
Well that’s just me.
Born to succeed.

To purple winters(and summers)
